The Seal Man, and Other Tales, with Barry and Cisco

Jyou's located a short walk away -- a little way south-east, over a bridge to another one of the islands that make up Odaiba, past a construction site repairing some light damage from a Digimon battle, and to the southernmost tip of one of the islands.

But he's there, sat on a bench with a textbook in hand and a white, orange-mohawked sea lion slumped around his shoulders like a scarf.

"Hope we didn't keep you waiting," Yamato says, as Jyou looks up at them and flicks down his glasses.

"So the yakuza get good sake, what about your friends?" Cisco asks, throwing an arm around Yamato's shoulders.

"No getting drunk," Barry declares absently before replying to Taichi.

"I'm sure Yamato can be a diplomat when he needs to be," Barry says. "Something he'll pick up more of going forward."

"I'll save some for you," Yamato promises Cisco. To Barry he adds: "Gonna get so drunk. Pick fights with every yakuza in the joint. You can't stop me."

He only gave his word not to drink any more Orochi-venom sake, after all.

"Ishida ..." Nishijima says, though he sounds fairly resigned.

"He'd pick it up quicker if he hurried up and agree to take my place," Taichi mutters.

"Dude, forget Barry," Cisco says to Yamato, "I've been hanging out with Jyou for the past while and if you get hurt in a bar fight with yakuza that guy will stab you with a needle."

He's quick to add, "I will take the sake, though."

"I was more thinking about you sending me more mash notes," Barry teases.

Reaching out, Barry gives Taichi an encouraging pat on the back. Barry knows, just as he's sure Taichi knows, that Yamato will be a great leader. Yamato just needs some time to commit.

"You love my mash notes," Yamato replies to Barry. To Cisco he adds: "And Jyou loves needles. He loves them too much."

Taichi gives a faint chuckle, throwing a smile Barry's way. He does seem, at least, reasonably confident that Yamato will eventually commit.

"I should start setting up the relief efforts," Nishijima says. "It was nice meeting you both."

"To hear him talk, you guys have forced that love," Cisco replies. Going by what Jyou said, needles were a basic necessity for dealing with the chosen.

Throwing a parting wave/saluteo to Nishijima, Cisco says, "Good luck, dude."

Digimon seemed to leave a much bigger mess than any meta they've had to deal with.

"They are really sweet," Barry admits with a laugh.

Giving Nishijima a nod, Barry says, "It was nice meeting you, too. Thanks."

For both taking care of things and for keeping their secret.

"We're the model of healthy living and taking care of ourselves, what're you talking about," Taichi says.

"We should probably find you two a door. Get you back to the comforts of the bar," Yamato says. "But, er, apart from the battle, I hope you enjoyed yourselves."

"C'mon, there's no way you believe that," Cisco says, leaning over to nudge his elbow against Yamato's side.

Looking around at the scene, Cisco nods and dusts his hands together.

"Yeah, I think my work is done here, so probably time to go."

He gives a satisfied nod for a job not really done, then points at Yamato and Taichi, "Hey you two, it was fun. Definitely gotta do it again sometime."

"Kind of enjoyed the battle, too," Barry admits with a smile that's almost a smirk.

It's pretty cool knowing that he can stand up to a Digimon, even if it wasn't a very big one.

"Seriously though, thanks for the trip, it was a lot of fun."

"You're always welcome here, or in the Digital World," Taichi says.

Yamato grins a little, flashing fangs, and pokes a finger against Barry's chest. "Clearly I'm a bad influence on you," he remarks cheerfully, "if you've started enjoying battles."

"Definitely going to keep up on my arcade skills for next time," Cisco promises.

[run_barry]

"Clearly," Barry agrees with a laugh.

"Thanks again, you guys. Good luck with everything here," he says. "We'll catch up later in the Bar, Yamato."

[angry_friendship_wolf]

"Catch up with you both later," Yamato says, giving the side of Barry's head, then Cisco's shoulder, quick headbutts.

He snaps his fingers and Garurumon abandons the log he's demolishing, following along at a brisk trot as Yamato finds a door to the Bar and eases it open, holding it for the two of them.

"See you guys," Cisco says, popping off a salute and snapping one last quick picture as he walks backwards through the door.

[run_barry]

Yamato gets a hug from Barry and Barry pats him on the back and says, "See ya. Let me know how the 'Fast-Man' story goes."

Barry laughs, releasing Yamato and follows Cisco through the door and back to the Bar.
