[tri OOM] Yamato and Quentin

Yamato's room is as neat as ever, apart from all the maps and notepads on his desk, where he's been working out repair plans and routes.

The video games he mentioned are also readily apparent: There are three on the kitchen work surface, the boxes still in their outer plastic packaging: What looks like a brightly coloured kart racing game, Rodrigo's Super Kart Racing; an equally brightly coloured fighting game, Deadly Iron Brawl X; and what seems to be a fairly serious looking flight simulator game, entitled Jet Flight Simulator 2006.

"I haven't actually played any of them yet," Yamato notes.

"She looks at me like she wants me to add to me to her decorations."

Which is unnerving, at least Toby sees it and is protecting him.

Yamato frowns at that, curling his arm a little tighter around Quentin.

"Yeah, well, nobody's going to let that happen."

"I know." She still made him nervous.

[angry_friendship_wolf]

"I wish I could tell you that you'll never have to see her again after this, but if she's an influential player at court, I guess that's a pipe dream."

"I"ll probably be seeing her again when Toby comes back. She knows where Chelsea is."

[angry_friendship_wolf]

"At least you'll have Toby as back-up. Or I suppose maybe you'll be her back-up, but either way."

[heatherandsteel]

"Yes, we'll find a way out of whatever happens."

[angry_friendship_wolf]

"How many cases have you done with Toby by now, anyway? You must be getting pretty experienced with all this stuff."

[heatherandsteel]

"Four so far, yeah, this is the fifth one. I don't always feel like it since every case is so different."

[angry_friendship_wolf]

"That just means you're getting a broader range of experience. Nothing wrong with that."

[heatherandsteel]

"No, I'll be prepared for a lot especially involving disappearing children."

[angry_friendship_wolf]

Wryly: "If any children get abducted in mysterious Digital World circumstances in my world, I'll be sure to bring you in to help."

Beat.

Frowning a little: "Again, I mean. If any children get abducted again."

He's not even counting the time where he was one of the abductees, this is just a suspiciously common thing to happen in his world.

"Yeah, it seems to be how the Digital World finds Chosen, takes them."

Which in a way makes sense to Quentin, its not too different from how the Fae work.

[angry_friendship_wolf]

"I wasn't even counting that," Yamato laughs, lifting a hand to rub over his forehead. "I was thinking of the time Oikawa abducted twenty small children. Or the time a demon rabbit abducted us and de-aged us."

Quentin kisses Yamato, "I hate that our worlds share this."

[angry_friendship_wolf]

"Look on the bright side," Yamato says, cracking a quick grin. "Our worlds aren't outliers in this, child abduction is probably something that happens in every world."

[heatherandsteel]

"That's not that bright a side."

[angry_friendship_wolf]

"I'm not that sunny an optimist," Yamato chirps. "And I've not been given a lot to work with."

There's not a lot positive about child abduction that can be spun into a bright side.

[heatherandsteel]

"No, its all pretty awful. I should probably go back soon." He doesn't want to.

[angry_friendship_wolf]

"Probably," Yamato agrees, just a touch reluctantly. "Sooner you go back, the sooner you can get this case sorted out."

"Yeah, and Toby and Tybalt will be back with Raj."

[angry_friendship_wolf]

"And with luck, everyone will be okay."

Quentin nods and kisses Yamato for a good long time.
