[tri OOM] Odaibananigans with Barry and Cisco

When Yamato opens the door to the safehouse and ushers Barry and Cisco through, it's not as busy as it usually is, but there are still a few people milling around the main room of the apartment.

Sora and Jyou are both at the kitchen table, Sora carefully working on a flower arrangement while Jyou reads through a medical textbook and scribbles notes. Nearby, on the couch, with a laptop resting on his knees, is a boy who looks almost identical to Yamato, minus a few years and with much more boyish features.

Yamato carefully shuts the door behind them. "Welcome to Chez Chosen, I guess," he says, crossing to the kitchen table to pick up his digivice and clip it to his belt.

"Can we just get on the roller coaster?" Cisco says, reaching a hand up to shove Yamato's face off his shoulder.

"The next time you guys need me to make you something cool I'm going to be all like, 'Remember that time you wanted to carve me up and serve me as a buffet? Yeah, you can go get your proton jetpack from someone else.'"

Yamato makes a sad noise as his face is shoved away. How could you, Cisco. How could you refuse his totally reasonable request. He is so hungry.

But the rollercoaster is nearby now, so he and Taichi quickly busy themselves handing over the group's passes to get stamped.

"We're lucky there aren't many queues today," Taichi notes, leading them into one of the cars.

Barry slides into a seat, folding his long legs into the car and clearing the way for the safety bar to go down.

"Yeah," he replies with a nod to Taichi. "Nice not to have to wait in line a long time."

"Dude, no amount of puppy dog eyes are going to get me to give over my liver," Cisco says to Yamato while climbing into the car.

"You're barely even using it," Yamato mutters, sullenly.

He and Taichi climb into the car behind Barry and Cisco, with Yamato taking a moment to get his legs settled comfortably, tugging down their own safety bar.

"Come to think of it, this'll be Yama's first time on this rollercoaster, too," Taichi remarks.

"Glad we could help you get out, man," Barry says, turning around to throw Yamato a smile.

"Still not giving it to you," Cisco says, patting his side to show his liver is going to stay right where it's at.

Yamato flashes a smile at Barry, ducking his head, as Taichi snorts.

"Yeah, left to his own devices, Yamato would spend all day every day working," he remarks.

As he talks, the rollercoaster starts moving, slowly at first but quickly picking up speed.

"All work and no play makes Jack a-- whoa!" Cisco starts to say over his shoulder, then faces forward and grabs onto the bar quickly as the coaster starts to pick up speed.

Barry laughs and waits eagerly as they top the first hill, then throws his arms into the air as the car hits the drop and dives.

Yamato is fairly stoic as the rollercoaster picks up speed, but Taichi absolutely isn't, giving a scream at the first dive.

It doesn't take long for them to hit top speed, though, and before long they're winding their way through the building, passing through tunnels between floors every so often.

It's a laugh riot between Barry and Cisco as they alternate from screaming and shouting to laughing out loud as the coaster whips them around.

As they start heading into another drop Barry takes notice of a rig up ahead and shouts out, "Everyone say, 'Cheese!'"

Cisco himself doesn't manage to get the word out as his voice rises in another scream, but he manages to pose as a bank of cameras goes off, taking photos of the passengers in the car as it flies by.

Taichi manages to quickly rotate Yamato to face the cameras, the two of them throwing up peace signs as they pass.

Yamato remains stoic, but he is, if the few excited chuckles he gives on particularly harsh turns, having fun, it seems.

Barry gives Cisco bunny ears and smiles widely for the photo.

A few more zinging drops and turns and they come back around to the start of the ride.

Cisco is breathless and still laughing as the car starts to slow.

"Whoo, that was awesome," he enthuses, turning in his seat to look back at Yamato and Taichi.

"Glad you liked it," Yamato chirps, reaching over to give Cisco's shoulder a quick shove.

He pushes the harness up, slipping out of the car, and waiting as Taichi picks up the photo.

"Here you go," Taichi says, handing off the photo to Barry. "One complimentary photo of all of us being dorks."

Out of the car, Barry takes a look at the photo and laughs, holding it over to show Cisco.

"That's great. This place was awesome. Thank you guys for bringing us."

Cisco takes a look at the photo and beams.

"Definitely gotta keep that one for posterity."

Yamato chuckles, nudging his head against the side of Barry's. "No problem, it's been great having you here," he says. "And Jyou should be ready for your Ikkakumon ride around the bay by now."

"I'm glad Taichi and I haven't made things too unbearable for you," Barry teases, slinging an arm around Yamato's shoulders. "I know that was a fear of yours."

Death by positivity.

[makes_the_toys]

"SWEET," Cisco crows. "This is gonna be awesome."

[angry_friendship_wolf]

"It's been touch and go a few times," Yamato jokes, grumbling a little. "We nearly reached a critical mass of cheerful optimism there."

"Don't complain, you love it really," Taichi says breezily. "C'mon, let's find Jyou."
