[tri OOM] Barry, Cisco, and File Island
Yamato brings Barry and Cisco out through the same hilltop telephone booth he used to bring Autor through a few weeks back, out onto a cliff with a pretty good view of the island.
The island's central point is a mountain that looks more like a sheer spike of rock, and radiating outwards from it are a lot of very different places: Closest to the mountain, there's a pastel-coloured village of some kind that looks like it might be made of cushions; a tropical jungle with a ruined temple of black and brown stone jutting out of it; and a desert with gear markings carved into the ground and a single, leafy mountain in the centre.
Spreading out further than that, there are forests; some kind of icy tundra; a large town with a glittering white castle; a small village covered by a dark cloud; some kind of factory belching smoke into the air; and a plain covered in railroad tracks and ruined trains. Just down from the cliff, there's a lake with a camp set up next to it.
"All right, File Island," Yamato says, shutting the door. "Oldest part of the Digital World."

"If we weren't so tight I'd call our friendship on that, right now."
As for the Penmon, Cisco suggests to Monzaemon, "Keep an eye on them. Those birds be cray."
no subject
Behind Monzaemon, the cars whiz by again. The Penmon in the slowest car is waving a wing and screaming "I WILL RUN OVER YOUR BEAK WITH MY WHEELS," at the other Penmon.
"They are certainly spirited," Monzaemon says, in agreement with Cisco.

"It's really cute... "
no subject
"This can only end well."
Or, horribly. Probably horribly.
"Hey Yams, let's race."
no subject
To Cisco, he scoffs slightly, rolling his shoulders. "All right, I'll take you on. What're we racing for?"

His pride is very important to him, he can't just go about losing it to Cisco.

"Just don't make me have to pull someone else out of a flaming wreck, alright?"
no subject
Monzaemon peers sedately between them. Then, to Barry: "If you like, you can get a better vantage point on my shoulder."
no subject
no subject
"Sure, thanks."
no subject
He starts heading towards a pastel building that he's pretty sure is a garage.
Monzaemon, meanwhile, stretches out a paw for Barry.
There are still a few cars left in the garage, most of them garishly painted. They're visibly plastic, and the controls seem simplified, closer to a go-kart than an actual car.
Yamato immediately gravitates towards one with an ice theme, hopping into the driver's seat.
no subject
"Do you even know how to drive?" Cisco asks, waffling between his choices. "Somehow I doubt laser wolf riding translates over all that well."
He starts to get in one car, then changes his mind at the last moment and runs over to another that's purple with loud orange stripes.
no subject
"Thanks."
Yep, definitely some shrink ray deja vu going on here.
no subject
Monzaemon makes sure Barry is appropriately settled. From this height, most of the town is visible, along with the distant shapes of the factory belching out smoke, Mount Infinity, and the Temple rising out of the rainforest area.
"It's okay. If you fall, I can catch you in a bubble," Monzaemon says, sagely.
no subject
Climbing into the car, Cisco checks things out before nodding.
"Ready."
no subject
"I think I'll be alright, but good to know," he says with a nod.
no subject
"Three, two, one ... Go."
He accelerates as soon as he's done talking, tearing out of the garage and immediately starting to accelerate towards top speed.
Monzaemon hums lightly, reaching into a nearby house to produce a delicate, normal sized teacup and teapot, and pouring himself some tea, watching as the race starts.
"Do say if you want any. I have chamomile. And chamomile honey."
no subject
"WOOOOOOOOOOO!"
With no shifting to worry about Cisco focuses on lead-footing it and steering.
no subject
"Huh? Oh uh, honey would be nice, thanks," he says, trying not to be or sound too distracted as the cars near a curve in the road.
no subject
Judging by the noise he makes, he is as surprised as anyone that that worked without totaling his vehicle, and ninety-nine percent sure it wouldn't have if they weren't driving literal toys.
Monzaemon delicately pours Barry a cup of chamomile and honey, reaching up to hand it to him.
"They're going very fast," he says, mildly. "They'll catch up with the Penmon soon."
no subject
"Oh? Also? I'm the king of Mario Kart, too!" He crows, not even really caring if Yamato can hear him or not.
