[tri OOM] Odaibananigans with Barry and Cisco

When Yamato opens the door to the safehouse and ushers Barry and Cisco through, it's not as busy as it usually is, but there are still a few people milling around the main room of the apartment.

Sora and Jyou are both at the kitchen table, Sora carefully working on a flower arrangement while Jyou reads through a medical textbook and scribbles notes. Nearby, on the couch, with a laptop resting on his knees, is a boy who looks almost identical to Yamato, minus a few years and with much more boyish features.

Yamato carefully shuts the door behind them. "Welcome to Chez Chosen, I guess," he says, crossing to the kitchen table to pick up his digivice and clip it to his belt.

"Yeah, I know how much you just hate that blog," Yamato teases.

"I could've been a professional photographer. An artist," Taichi says, with faux-wistfulness. "Might take you up on that offer sometime, though."

"Dude," Barry says, reaching out to elbow Yamato again when he teases Barry.

Not about to confirm or deny that, Barry drinks his drink and tries not to smile too much, or look too embarrassed.

"I'll be sure and give your skills credit when these go up," Cisco replies, matching Taichi's wistfulness with his own solemn tone.

Yamato chuckles, nudging his head against Barry's. "Just saying, I think it might be your favourite blog ever," he says. After a moment: "Okay, okay, I'll stop."

Taichi claps a hand to his heart. "It's so good to meet someone else with an artist's soul," he says to Cisco, dramatically. "You're a true friend."

"Yeah, yeah," Barry says, butting Yamato back.

"Anyway, what'd you guys want to do now?"

"Hey, I get it, man. I get it," Cisco replies, reaching over to pat Taichi.

[angry_friendship_wolf]

"I can text Jyou and see if he's up for giving you guys that ride around the bay on Ikkakumon," Taichi offers.

"Or there's the rollercoaster. Or the VR multiplayer zombie game," Yamato says.

[run_barry]

"I feel like we've gotta hit the rollercoaster at least one," Barry says. "Think we've got time for a run before meeting up with Jyou?"

If Jyou decides to say yes to the ride, of course.

"Yep, he's definitely a speed-junkie," Cisco declares, grinning then nodding to Taichi and Yamato.

"I'm good with that."

[angry_friendship_wolf]

"We should have time," Yamato says, as Taichi starts texting. "He's got to get Gomamon first, after all, and he'll probably want to find himself some waterproof clothes."

[run_barry]

"Cool," Barry says. "Let's go check out that coaster."

He pauses and adds, "If you guys are all done eating... "

Barry looks to make sure.

"I'm good," Cisco says, slurping the last of his soda.

There's a quick scramble from Yamato and Taichi to grab the last of the pizza slices. Taichi's quicker, and ends up with several stuffed in his cheeks like a squirrel, while Yamato bares his fangs and gives an irritable growl.

After a second, Yamato remarks "Yeah, we're done eating."

Taichi gives a silent thumbs up.

"Rollercoaster admission is down on the second floor," Yamato says, standing up, as Taichi hurriedly chews.

Cisco leans back in his seat, making sure all of his digits and limbs are safe from the feeding-frenzy.

"And now I know for sure, if I ever get stranded with any of my friends I'll be the first one eaten," he says grimly.

"Glad I didn't have to fight you guys for mine," Barry laughs, getting up and following the group.

"Man, you'd caramelise so well if we cooked you over a low heat," Yamato says to Cisco, encouragingly.

Taichi nods somberly, glancing at his phone as he finishes swallowing the pizza. "Well, Jyou says yes to an Ikkakumon ride."

[run_barry]

"You know I bet you're right," Barry says to Yamato, thoughtful and grinning. "With all the sugar and junk he eats, you wouldn't even need a glaze."

[makes_the_toys]

"Cannibals," Cisco grumbles at the two before perking up for Taichi.

"Yeah? Sweet! Tell him Cisco says, 'Thanks for being cool and also not a human flesh-eater.'"

"Serve him with some steamed leeks and a salad and he'd be a great meal," Yamato says agreeably, starting down the stairs.

"I'll tell him that," Taichi chirps to Cisco. "-- Although I don't know if seals are any less man-eating than wolves."

[run_barry]

"Good to know with Cisco around we'll never go hungry," Barry laughs, looking up to watch the roller coaster whip around a turn.

[makes_the_toys]

"I'll take my chances with the seal," Cisco replies. "And maybe pack some salmon rolls for distraction, just in case."

[angry_friendship_wolf]

"Cisco~," Yamato whines mournfully, settling his chin on Cisco's shoulder as they walk, giving him wide, soulful puppydog eyes. "You don't even need both kidneys. Your liver will grow back. Cisco. Cisco."

[run_barry]

"He might," Barry notes with a clinical tone. "With all the sodas and caffeine he drinks his kidneys probably take a beating. His liver, too."

[makes_the_toys]

"Can we just get on the roller coaster?" Cisco says, reaching a hand up to shove Yamato's face off his shoulder.

"The next time you guys need me to make you something cool I'm going to be all like, 'Remember that time you wanted to carve me up and serve me as a buffet? Yeah, you can go get your proton jetpack from someone else.'"

Yamato makes a sad noise as his face is shoved away. How could you, Cisco. How could you refuse his totally reasonable request. He is so hungry.

But the rollercoaster is nearby now, so he and Taichi quickly busy themselves handing over the group's passes to get stamped.

"We're lucky there aren't many queues today," Taichi notes, leading them into one of the cars.
