[tri OOM] Odaibananigans with Barry and Cisco
When Yamato opens the door to the safehouse and ushers Barry and Cisco through, it's not as busy as it usually is, but there are still a few people milling around the main room of the apartment.
Sora and Jyou are both at the kitchen table, Sora carefully working on a flower arrangement while Jyou reads through a medical textbook and scribbles notes. Nearby, on the couch, with a laptop resting on his knees, is a boy who looks almost identical to Yamato, minus a few years and with much more boyish features.
Yamato carefully shuts the door behind them. "Welcome to Chez Chosen, I guess," he says, crossing to the kitchen table to pick up his digivice and clip it to his belt.

Asked what they want to see, Barry and Cisco answer simultaneously.
"Mall." "Games."
Barry looks sheepish and says, "I'm down with whatever, but I think it'd be cool to checkout the mall."

"The island's pretty small, we can do both," Yamato says with a laugh. "Head south-east to the arcade, then north-east from there to the mall and expanding Barry's wardrobe."
no subject
Giving Yamato's plan a thumbs-up, Barry agrees easily.
"Sure, sounds great to me."

He crosses over to them in a few long strides, giving Yamato a rough hair-ruffle as he passes, and stopping in front of Barry and Cisco.
"Hey," he says, brightly. "Barry-san and Cisco-san, right?"
"This is Taichi," Yamato says, a little gruffly.
no subject
"Hey, what's up?" Barry greets, nodding to his name.

"I wouldn't call myself legendary. Not unless Yama's been bigging me up."
"Please," Yamato replies. "I've complained about you and called you an idiot, and that's it. Don't start getting an inflated ego just because these two are being nice."
no subject
He is fully ready to duck behind Barry for protection if Yamato reacts.

"Aw, you're so sweet, Yama," Taichi starts, sing-song, settling his chin on Yamato's shoulder. Yamato shoves him away, one hand on his forehead. To Barry, Taichi adds: "Yeah, it's going to be good. I'll need to brush up on my English, though."

"Sounds like a cool opportunity. Good luck with it."
no subject
"Yamaaaa~," Taichi whines, trying to drop his chin onto Yamato's shoulder, only to get shoved away from him. To Barry, he says: "Yeah, it'll be good. Leaving Tokyo is going to be weird, but I'll be back for Christmas. Maybe I can get Yama to give me a tour of his fancy military academy."
"Don't hold your breath," Yamato mutters.
no subject
"You love us and you know it."
no subject
"It'll be different, but I'm sure it'll be really cool, too," he says to Taichi, then drops his voice a little and gives a not so surreptitious nod towards Yamato. "And you know this guy is going to miss you."
no subject
He busies himself with pulling on his coat, grabbing Taichi's coat and tossing it so that it drapes artfully over the other boy's head.
"He'll be way too busy to miss me," Taichi laughs, ducking his head and pulling the coat on. "I'll end up coming back and he'll have to ask who I even am."
no subject
"Alright, let's go Mr. Tour Guide."

The scent of sea air is strong here, and they're close enough to the edge of the island that it can be seen, not so much a coast as a straight, steep drop-off of a few feet, with a railing around the edge.
It's not a long walk at all to get into the entertainment district, barely a few minutes, at which point the streets become much busier and the buildings much denser. There's plenty of tourists meandering about, and a significant presence of men in gaudy business suits with tattoos just visible over the collar, a few of whom wave and give cheerful greetings of 'Ishi-chan' or 'Ishida-kun,' and a few yells of 'Yagami-kun.'
"Arcade's not far," Yamato remarks to the Barry and Cisco, Taichi giving a quick nod of agreement.
no subject
"Wow, different view than Central City," Barry remarks, looking out over the water.
Also a lot more crowded, though Barry navigates it easily enough; sticking close to Yamato and Taichi, with an eye on Cisco to make sure he keeps up.
"You guys are popular," Barry notes to the calls that come their way.
no subject
"Great, I'm excited to see what sort of gaming experience you guys offer here," Cisco notes when Yamato announces that they're close.
"This also might be the only chance I'll ever have to kick Yamato's ass in a fight."
no subject
Taichi snorts. "Some of us are popular. The Kidos are the only doctors here, so everyone loves Jyou. And some people love a grumpy puppy," he says. "All the yakuza families on the island adore Yama, have done since he was a kid. Every time we need to negotiate with Old Man Hakuho, he goes in person."
"Shut up," Yamato replies dryly, rolling his eyes.
Taichi snickers, slinging an arm around Cisco's shoulders. "You've got this, Cisco. Yamato never goes to the arcade, you can beat him on thumb speed."

"He is a grumpy puppy, isn't he?"
